Had last week with 2 HDV cameras (; HV20 & HV30), an event recorded. When you import with FCS 6.0.5, I had many dropouts. Question now: Is there in card-based recording media such as SD or CF cards synonymous these intolerable side effects?

Camcorder with hard drive or memory cards typically have no dropouts. Where no medium is safe.

Also memory cards fall out, clips and pictures are lost. If anyone has tapes of drop-outs, it's usually not something wrong in the whole chain of the camera to the hard drive. Over 50 miniDV tapes I've filled with HDV recording, no drop-outs!

Both with and without scene detection in HDVSplit and Adobe Premiere CS3 and with Final Cut Pro on a MacPro 8CORE. Have synonymous normal DV tapes as synonymous but used hochertige Panasonic HDV tapes. Always dad same offense.

For me, it behaves like Bruno Peter. I have only very rarely synonymous dropouts. Usually only at the beginning or the end of a scene that was split by the splitter when HDV is eliminated.

FinalCut behaves like HDV Split. At start-stop, both as synonymous with dropouts is (; corresponding default settings to create) to leave a new clip. I often capture live to one megabyte. It happened that the Firewire cable sashayed out of the camera. After a while I realized that I - "Sat1-Ball" for stuck! - Frozen Capture window reintun did not have to restart, but only the time again: New clip!
This shows that HDV dropouts lead synonymous with ridiculously weak computers, at least not to a program crash. That's never happened before. Even though I have timecode breaks by the coils (; I had weaned me on DV): No problem, it only creates a new clip.
It is now synonymous with an estimated 80 hours of HDV tape has never been one - of me noticed - Dropout ever come. I very often let go through all the tapes, where this would be so noticeable. What you can do other than care of the camera, is a clever tape, always the same brand, and the synonymous use only once discs.
The fault must lie with you, logically, in the Firewire connection chain, Bruno has already proposed. Let the Camera-DV-out jacks out, because that two are broken, is unlikely. Purchase a new Firewire cable. If there is next to errors, it is your calculator.

If you have HDV2 because of the "high" data rate no error protection, as in HDV1. Errors are therefore passed. The transfer of PES is already a dance on the rope, especially in such a medium. Media draw a card (; appropriate) with little error protection and are therefore at perse already better than any HDV2 program stream. In addition, depending on the quality of Herstellerallgorithmen that is made in recording a Verify and to mask defective cells. Defects do not show respect, but to reduce the dropout as a storage capacity of the card. Is exceeded by a predetermined amount, the card is useless, can be synonymous but not describe. However, damage to an otherwise intact card with recorded material, so naturally take synonymous lost those pictures.

Is not exactly encouraging, it always amazes me that (so nen Schrott, sorry, but sometimes I burst, the collar can come) aufm market, and we must struggle s.den problems. Can not figure out how much time I squander all of these side effects try to eliminate them. Thank you guys.
