Infoseite // EOS 7D: Windows: read timecode. THM? Interrogator ...

Frage von thsbln:

Hi,

how can you open a. THM file to read the data in it?

And there is now a solution, then it synonymous to provide the mov files with a time code?

If not, how you handle the matter because with the lack of time code, especially with various interview clips? (My temporary solution is to assign each clip in Vegas the timecode plug-in, but then this is for the transcribing of interviews annoying when one thousand times the time code 02:10:25 filenames must note plus shortcuts to order again later to find a job - against my consumer miniDV Schei ** Erche was really luxurious).

And one more question: I have camera sound and O-Sound of 'an external device: now I sync the whole thing, but then I have two audio tracks - there is a similar script that exchanges the audio tracks without me again new must render?

Thank you!

I've just found was:

http://www.videotoolshed.com/product/42/qtchange/2

Quote: QtChange
For: Win / Mac

A lot of people now use it to add time code / reelnames to DSLR shot video, in order to have dupe detection.
But it can used for a lot of other workflows s.well.
(Eg better media management of non-time coded sources.)

There is new Avid support:
Speed changes to import worry free, or import s.ALE trough and get TC and TapeName s.well info!

And so it now can output BWF files, with or without speed changes.
All BWF files will be 48 KHz, even if the source is 44.1

A small word of wisdom:
30 frames per second from the Canon 5D mark II in fact can be used in a 29.97 Final Cut Pro timeline.
You then have a 1:1 frame relationship. This is good.
BUT, your sound will be out of sync.
This has nothing to do with this application!
So it's best to first conform the clip to 29.97, then add time code, then Edit.
A brilliant new feature is to get the time from the original Canon 's metadata.
Not only it is more accurate (one hundredth of a second), but you can now transcode first to anything you like, and then add the time code.
So make sure your THM files travel all the way with whatever form you render to!
(Just copy them into the same folder s.you render to.)

This tool will let you batch of old QT files.
Use it to old properties, or to add / TC / Reel info.
It is compatible with QT files created by Nikon or Canon cameras.

So with this, you can add timecode, either style Rec Run, Free Run or style.
(In the case of Free Run style, time and date from the shooting can be used for TC / reel info.

Try it straight on, come on right away but not so sure ...

With the Canon Import plugin for FinalCut synonymous with metadata in the imported be taken mov. In the case of the EOS DSLRs is the time code time-hour-minute-second frame rate in frames. At the moment the example 13:27:45:17 (or so) would be. The alternative is to generate a time code later, as described above.
