Infoseite // Eigenbau a fluid Eiger

Frage von Bastler:

A few weeks ago, I built me a tripod. When I used the instructions detailed drawings of Sachtler - Sachtler Tripod DA 100 HD / St 100-8. Only the Spikes and the Nivellierhalbkugel I was referring of Manfrotto, discounted because of the price. Since I am operating the machine lathe synonymous can use for personal reasons, this was not a problem.

Now, a fluid Eiger is in the program. Specific parts of this head I have already made. But now I face a big problem. Where do I get the fluid to the video head. Alone, based on the friction Neiger not running according to my ideas. In hardware stores and drugstores, I have already asked for fluid. A useful answer I have not received yet. Hence my question. Can someone tell me where I can obtain the required fluid.
To RSVP as soon as possible, since the tripod and video of the Eiger in the spring to come are already deployed.
For fast answer already my thanks in advance
Heinz-Friedrich

I have a brilliant idea:

You still buy a fairly large fluid head on Manfrotto Eiger or so or Sachtler and Extract the liquid for your purposes. The rest of the purchased scrap metal head then you can indeed synonymous privately usable on your machine lathe into a neat ashtray or repurpose an extension of your Playmobil collection! ;-)

No, no ... Need not me to thank I'm da help getting creative in this forum! :-))

Hello,
in bike shops, there is a lubricant for motorcycle chains, which is likely to meet your expectations in its consistency. Unfortunately, the bottle is 70 N.of me away, so I can not say anything about Manufacturer etc.. Maybe I can submit the next week.

Since I would be careful. Most of the fats / oils contain acids, which is then not so tingly ...
Probably better, silicone-based. Should not be too runny, so have a certain liability. But I think that you so synonymous has .....

Sachtler is famous for its heads, that are (almost) temperature independent damped. The type of damping is considered to be great secrecy. The contents of the head, so can hardly be expected to find out.

This is anyway the biggest problem.
The different temperatures. As probably everyone knows, are normal fats / oils with decreasing temperature or viscous viscous, conversely, stop when it gets warmer.
So I would not at first try to build me such a part. Unless one has a different idea.
For example, with solids (balls) on a mechanical device to be selectively slowed down ... or are of a suitably flexible material, the pressure on them to slow down accordingly (rolling resistance )......

I even knew synonymous like to work like the Sachtler heads. On their website says quite mysterious:
Quote: Extreme temperatures can not harm our fluid heads nothing. They work without any hitches, contain no hydraulic oil and are completely sealed against external influences.

Who does not? ;-))
Had a lot of money worth ....
How about with powder filling? Or a combination of Liquids powder?

The fantasy are there no limits .....

As for me synonymous s.der Sachtler attenuation fascinating is the fact that the damping is not "sticking". Of all the other fluid-heads (Manfrotto, Velbon) I knew the phenomenon that the position after a few minutes down time (for example, after I had focused the camera at an event on a speaker) can be solved with just a jerk again (very weak, but in telephoto setting quite visible).
The Sachtler I can even make them stand overnight in the morning and losschwenken gently. (A pause for the overnight shooting is not relevant, but technically interesting.) In any case, I infer that it is not for fat or fluid-based damping.

hmmm, that's really interresant.
I zerbrösel me just the head, is how such a thing possible.
I had so eien mix of "powder" and fame fluid suspected ....
The combination, provided that they can not spend, this would be quite capable of and how well the "slips" can be seen even (unfortunately) more frequently in nature (landslide) ...

If it were possible, a partial record of the liquid components to enable in order to suppress this "avalanche effect" would be next to a good piece. Only "Vermatschen" It may not flat, otherwise it remains stuck "".....

I once let me think of something, maybe then a patent for neus out ;-)

about your answer

I have a question. BERNER all procedures after the same method. Surely there is in Switzerland, synonymous SMOKING. What to do with that then the created handsome ashtray after Berner-type. As a storage vessel for Swiss cheese is an ashtray in my opinion not appropriate. Playmobil collection, hmmmmm, I have not yet thought about it. Certainly I would have to be brilliant to come BERNER to such thoughts.
