Frage von Lindi:

Day together.

I'm just about to get me an updated Macbook Pro. S.das had little thought of 13.3 ".
I want to cut AVCHD material. GELSENWASSER Did the Internet now that I need at least Final Cut Express, iMovie as can not.
I could now get cheap s.Final Cut Express 3.5 HD.
My question therefore is enough of that version or do I get my 4.0 HD.

Antwort von EThie:

Unfortunately not, FCE 3.5.1 only supports NTSC / PAL DV and HDV, not AVCHD.
For AVCHD you need FCE 4th

Addendum: 9 iMovie can import AVCHD, but only right of the camera, but not from the Finder.

Where is the difference between FCE 4 and FCE 4 HD?
I find on eBay offers many of FCE 4th On the product pictures but there is nothing of HD.
Are there any version of 4 different variants?

Antwort von EThie:

Do not get upset. There is only one FCE 4 without HD. This can DV, HDV and AVCHD. It can even mix different formats on the timeline.
That with the HD is probably still together with the old versions, which resulted in a HD in the name.

Incidentally, native can not edit AVCHD synonymous FCE 4. The video material is transformed into an intermediate codec. Quality differences I can detect at least not in HDV (not even to edit AVCHD but only HDV)

However, the synonymous with the MacBook Pro included iMovie 09 can AVCHD video from the camera or directly import the record of import (> Camera Archives) provided that the COMPLETE PRIVATE folder is available. Never try to import individual MTS streams or mortise sonstwelchen dementia within the folder structure ...
Iron rule when working with AVCHD!
The whole thing is then in the Apple Intermediate Codec (or whatever the means) and has converted flutscht everything.

Since I do not fiddle with AVCHD footage, I can only rely on the help function in iMovie.
On one hand it says that files of USB cameras are detected, synonymous to the hard drive, the other is because no uncertain and clear: "AVCHD video files from the Finder of iMovie does not import. So that you can import AVCHD video, you need to Import run directly from the camcorder. "
There may be files on the disk only of MPEG-cameras in the SD format, which is so synonymous imported via USB / was read.
