The moiré is one of the tricks. My colleague has just the 5d with horrible cheap lenses made. He still collects and analyzes them.

Unfortunately I suffer from the general image quality synonymous with the price and not just the resolution.
He should give it a shot in the "cinema corner," are located where high quality lenses and the best image quality at relatively low resolutions.
