You could the converter s.einer 4-pin Firewire port of a PC connected, so that no more power comes. yes, should work, since the 4 pin cable, the two current-carrying wires simply missing.
The power supply of the remaining synonymous ADVC has no switch ;-( So there you have to unplug or switch s.der socket set ;-)
