Infoseite // For what HD-SDI Input

Frage von aight8:

I have a basic question about the HD-SDI input which is indeed used in the professional sector and the professional cameras is increasingly included. It's basically a faster HDMI but why had a camera with an HD-SDI INPUT? Does one not to output the video signal from the camera to stream uncompressed in real time to an external device?

There are cameras to record that have synonymous with a HD-SDI input to an HD-SDI signal can be. For example, the PDW is the model number of Sonywith an expansion board (CBKHD01) possible.

In fact, HD-SDI no faster way HDMI, but HDMI is a no return path and without copy protection.

I think for now meaningless. This used to be expensive and professionally and so one stuff. Today was going synonymous via HDMI.

Only use the TV studio or seriously rare digital cinema cameras.
I repeat, in expensive and in a few years dead

That depends on it for what it uses HD-SDI or HDMI, but that was not even the subject of the original question. HDMI is just gruesome s.sich if you have to use the standard times, or look at the complex and vulnerable to disruption cables that only allow a cable length of 15m, or if one thinks in a studio environment, a matrix or a mixer to realize. HD-SDI is, like so many professional interfaces, so simple and brilliant: simple cable or fiber, commercially robust times, almost any cable length (especially fiber) and low effort at cross rails.
Therefore one could have HD-SDI synonymous take for the consumer world, but then would not be a copy protection, no automatic negotiation of the possible transmission format and at the same time a rather bulky on small consumer devices have been necessary.

... and the format are limited and what is with the time code, which is synchronization with ... etc. etc. Add to that the miserable TDMS coding with HDMI ....
HDMI was never intended for professional use and is completely unsuitable.
HDMI is a pure consumer interface and in the consumer area, it has never existed anyway SDI. So there may be synonymous die nix.

If you say so, then there will be a few years, no more HD-SDI, which there is so synonymous so few TV studios ;-)

For this reason, it is synonymous for over a year the Standard with the 3Gb SDI can 60p to 1080 (4:4:4) signals without problems on 50 meters BNC cable chic.
This can be for over five years by Dual-Link (HSDL) is transmitted in real time to load even up to 30 frames / in 2k resolution.

More benefits of HDMI to SDI are:
-More stable plug connections (BNC vs. HDMI Male)
-Easy to use cable as flexible and mobile than the "thick" HDMI cable
Bridging long distances without repeaters
Using cost-BNC cable
-In the case of a defect with a little tool to quickly repair
BNC cable synonymous for other signals such as YUV, composite, or even to use antenna
Built-TC in the video signal.
- Standard for the professional sector: All cameras have a 10,000 Euro or two HD-SDI outputs, have only two cameras (Red1 & EX3) still synonymous with a HDMI output.
etc.

The SDI standard should still be in a couple of years of history, gets the PowerMac three scoops of ice his choice of me.
