Infoseite // From TV on DVD

Frage von nazca:

Such questions will be similar to, or certainly have been asked many times before - please do not complain immediately, but I would just stop for a few opinions on relatively specific issues. So I am counting on a short time.

Background: like movies / contributions from TV (analog cable TV card Hauppauge, not a top model) to record on Calculator (big hard drive partition to encode any), and then burn it to DVD.

The questions:

1) Which program for recording?
Work with VirtualDub 1.6.11.

2) Special settings for this?
Take with YUY2 and at 720x576 at 25fps. Compression: Huffyuv or uncompressed.

3) To Huffyuv: the quality can be compared with actual Uncompressed?

4) encode what? MPEG2 or DivX. Advantages / disadvantages?
I take the time DivX 6 Pro.

5) Specific settings for VirtualDub and the DivX encode? How siehts with filters made of? What does what? Which bit?

6) What is Comparison with DVD quality (buy movies) - to be expected quality in this process - what is expected, what is possible?

I myself have already tried a lot of course synonymous. So far, I'm still not satisfied. The quality is maximally useful to good. But would like to achieve good to very good.

Would be glad if a few would Opinions / suggestions on these topics. Could certainly synonymous to help others.

Thanks

Hello,

You want to "films / contributions from TV (analog-record [...] cable) [...] and burn it to DVD.

For this application a Harddisks-/DVD-Recorder would be optimal, which you can program timer minutes / hours / days / weeks in advance, is equipped with a built-in tuner, you start with the first on hard drive, rausschneiden commercial breaks and then the film burn to DVD in a number of speed can do.

Recently, I have the Panasonic DMR-EH60EG-S

Thanks for your answer, Mark.

Yes, that's obviously attractive to a dedicated hardware recorders. But right now I'd rather stay s.Computer.

I previously had no bad experiences with DivX, but for 18 hours processing time with the results I'm not 100% satisfied. As I said, we can accept it, but something more would be better. Perhaps I did not edit the best, so the questions.

And maybe also add the following: where exactly is exactly the crucial difference between professional DVD quality video and the rendered in with the computer? Liegts in the input (starting material) or s.Output (codecs), or both? In theory I ought to get close to the computer s.diese synonymous with quality.

Nazca Hello!

Here I'm just a little info about this and posted a similar topic: TV, Multimedia and VideoServer

Vielleicht hilft Dir das ja!

Zu Deinen Fragen:

1) Welches Programm zur Recording?
Arbeite with VirtualDub 1.6.11.

Virtualdub kann doch selber Aufnehmen! Wozu das andere Programm???

Hier ein Workshop
and Info

2) Spezielle Einstellungen hierfür?
Nehme with YUY2 and 720x576 bei 25fps auf. Compression: Huffyuv bzw. uncompressed.

4) encode what? MPEG2 or DivX. Advantages / Info

disadvantages?
I take the time DivX 6 Pro.

MPEG2 runs on any DVD player during DIVx runs only on specific devices. Both run on the calculator, if the codec is installed. Calculator is for DIVx through the better is a good memory compression codec, which is unfavorable for further processing.

5) Specific settings for VirtualDub and the DivX encode? How siehts with filters made of? What does what? Which bit?

Depending on what medium is to banish you want the videos to Divx at the 1000 Ok (CD) more DVD only.

6) What is Comparison with DVD quality (buy movies) - to be expected quality in this process - what is expected, what is possible?

With good settings, the starting material is crucial for the quality. Therefore, you will probably never "get DVD quality (buy movies). But whether you will see this is a different question.

It is s.beidem. If the material is botch, you obviously can not top DVD create with it.

That is correct. So if the first is met (your shots a very good starting quality), then you can make with the right encoder synonymous the course for a top DVD. A very good encoder that s.dieser body is often recommended, is Canopus Procoder that exists in the versions "Express" and "Pro".

And with increasing speed of your computer are synonymous reduce render times. ;-)

That is, the Procoder is again better than Divx or various MPEG2 codecs? Is obvious that the quality of output quality in its upper (theoretical) limit.
