Infoseite // Glass smeared with butter?

Frage von Der Mondmann:

Hello people ...
I am once again looking for the smallest possible depth of field. With Aperture and far I have already achieved good results, but I still had another idea that would make the whole for close-ups much easier.
And although I was reminded s.einen old super-8 trick that gave me my wise grandpa views on how to artificially make the boundary blurred (for "Love Movies", etc. ..). He has just a little butter filter s.Rand draufgeschmiert what made the picture s.diesen soft spots appear beautiful.

The whole work must still synonymous in size. Simply slide a mat, or a slice with butter, etc. between actor and provide background and off you go.
Can you give me tips about this before I make big purchases now, have you tried similar schonmal?
What do you think about it, is there a fallacy?

Love Greetings
Nick

So, in my view, there is actually still a fallacy: What has mere blur s.Rand with help from the depth of field? By the smearing of butter on a slice of the whole picture is blurred, not more.

Antwort von Roland:

If you do not blur and Tiefenschäfre do the following trick: UV filter in front of the lens (about the orig.) Lens to protect the edge and smear with vaseline or something a colorless water-based gel (such as lubricants or Flutschi Glitschi are optimal) - works wonderfully. The best way to cut before a small round cardboard disk with a match and press them onto the filter so that the center of the picture is really free. The result is much better than anyone I know venal Blur.

I thought you had just some fancy name called, but there really! I personally prefer ID Glide, but ... (What? As the question was ?)... oh so, wrong forum! ;-)

Mal so ne dumme Note ...

This trick is implemented in the post without much effort (if we talk of video material) - certainly faster than butter, lubricants or other variations to use with which you play around for a long time have much to it (... and then perhaps later does not fit anyway).

This means you then asking a, shall we say, 5x10m large slice of the countryside, you want to completely and evenly with very thin smear of butter, so that the background looks a little blurry? IS not serious, right?
1. Infinitely expensive (glass and Butter)
2. no chance to distribute evenly
3. perfume the butter with the time and quite easily get lost
4. within a very short time the butter will become rancid and STINKEN!
5. Meanwhile, there are intentional systems in the euro area 1000-1500, which you set the desired depth. Have to google for it, I realize the link was a not.

Antwort von Der Mondmann:

Hi folks!
You have me all wrong. Probably liegtr fact that I was somehow stupid words. So I present again and just, and only the most important (without the Schnikschnak with the Lens and above):

between the actor and the camera is not coated glass, but between the actor and the background. So the actor is very sharp and blur the background. And of course I am talking about (as already written) of short-and detail shots. The disc does not need to be very large.

I hope now it is better coming over?

Antwort von Nathanjo:

Ahh, that takes the penny;)

So I memorial that would be entirely feasible, but whether that really looks after Tiefenunschärfte or more like a piece of glass smeared with butter, I do not know;)
