Infoseite // HD-video format for Windows

Frage von bojo:

Good day

This is my first post, because I've always been through the search function to find out everything was.
But now to my problem ...

I NEN MacPro with FCS2. A friend has a SonyPMW-EX1 and had me turn the XDCAM files into a format (Full HD), by declaring it on his Windows computer can handle.

For me, the whole is currently saved as mov.
In what format should I convert it now and with what compression should I work so that he can handle it?

Many loving thanks in advance!

Quicktime files can be synonymous with Windows process. It does not depend on the operating system, but of the program, your friend with the works, or of the codecs that are based on their PC installed.
Premiere Pro 2.0 can, for example, mov files and further processed.
You must then ask your friend what he can handle. Or your friend is preparing software so that it can use your files. Any conversion to another format is associated with losses.

For normal HDV does the Compressor preset transport stream (resolution, and data of the original), but even here with two "hooks": The first few frames are PC-Premiere/AAE red, the last few frames after the treatment may not be exported, otherwise the rush Programs from, probably some GOP open problem. Since the tapeless recording of the EX-1 is a file that would export as such better. In case of doubt, then back to the camera (if it works) and import on the PC (if it works). Mov-HDV for example, already is not compatible, neither Quicktime conversely opens the. Mpeg (Capture Format of Premiere) nor the. M2t (native format on the tape), although this certainly can be exported. With the new XDCAM it is still rather hairy, I suppose.

Yes clear. That is why I have been synonymous an uncompressed AVI from MOV files created. The only problem is the 40 minutes, then quickly to 400 GB in size.

A friend has advised me the whole container on the SxS stick to the hard drive to copy it. Then, every PC needs while still a Sony software, but is the least free.

I have yet to MOV with Windows very bad experiences. I think that was still with Premiere Pro 2 (located about 1 years back).

What I perhaps should say. The footage in Full HD before. So no HDV, but really pure XDcamEX gedüns.

But back to my original question. Which compression format with what would be in the HD area (no HDV) Systemübergreiffend s.geeignetsten?

because nobody has written anything about this, I suppose, that it is indeed nothing clever there.

I thank the two answers still very much for your efforts.

DVCProHD is now synonymous as an exchange format.
