Current is Final Cut Pro 7 Version 4 is thus likely to AVCHD / do not support 1080p with security. If you do not want to join the expensive upgrade, FCExpress could be a solution, but which supports 1080i synonymous only on Intel Macs.
I suspect this will be a calculator, which is still running on 10.4, not the case. But the more expensive synonymous upgrade to Final Cut Studio requires an Intel Mac.
I would recommend as VoltaicHD Converter, which certainly works well for SD material. The conversion is obviously complicated, but there is a demo version, with which you can try the whole thing. In any case, Apple ProRes422 support and so should be able to handle Final Cut Pro synonymous 4th
