Hello,
I have an old camcorder of Canon, nor those of 8mm or HI-8 tapes has recorded. This camcorder has an AV Out port. In this connection it is purely a cable and get two RCA outputs, one yellow and one white. These in turn put me into a scart adapter, with whom I am always the picture on my TV or VCR to transfer.
Nuuur ... I would like this Hi-8 video directly on my PC digitizer. I have bought a TV card with a composite, and TV satellite in connection purchased.
I also have a scart converter like this:

In these converters, I have two RCA cables and put the signal through a composite cable directly connected with my PC.
No matter what software I with the signal, I always get just the picture supplied, never the sound.
What could be the reason?
Do I need to lose a quality loss if I forget these composite connection and using my camcorder to the VCR scart connect with and of there with a TV cable with a PC?
Would be nice to me if you could answer my questions ....

Is your card a "sat in" or a "scart in '?
Do you have your scart adapter audio - In gestellt?
Is it perhaps better, your video on the video card, your audio signal to the sound card / on the audio input to create?

Your Camera is apparently a video (yellow RCA) and a mono audio signal (white RCA) out.
Your TV card has only one RCA input for the video, an S-Video input (output?) For the video and the obligatory antenna input.
The yellow RCA is one of the Camera in your RCA TV card. The white cinch you heard about a Camera Adapter (RCA to 3.5 mm mini-jack) s.deine soundcard or line-in s.deinem PC.
Furthermore your TV card to ease in DivX. This is a cutting s.PC totally unsuitable format.

Hmmm ... how much would be because of the quality loss if I do not have composite record, but through an antenna cable?

Can only be worse! The signal will only Hf hochmoduliert and then "runtergeholt". The losses can only give. The only advantage you have the same sound with this and not have to go through the sound card. Mpeg2 compression is better than DivX, but not synonymous, the yellow from the egg. But doable.

I now have a RCA to 3.5 mm mini-jack cable and thus everything is perfect s.den PC.
I've tried with different programs, and over LineIn stereo mix, but I always get a strong noise or a kind of overexcited and bass have already s.allen possible controllers rumgespielt, for days and I do not know more to help ....
Can someone tell me how the optimal sound settings should look, perhaps on screenshots?
I have a Realtek AC'97 sound card normally.

Running any kind of equalizer or enhancer in the background, the sound changed? My sound card, I can, for example, with a Hall show, so that incoming audio signals with a certain sound scheme (concert hall, bathrooms ,...) s.die speaker form. So something obviously distorts the impression and the possibly synonymous Recording.
