How do I build the following 3D carousel in After Effects CS4?

I want to reconstruct a 3D carousel with AFX with symbols. It will operate according to this principle: http://designmind.frogdesign.com/blog/3d-mega-carousel-cs3-icon-explosion.html
I think that would be built with Flash, I have to build in allerdinds Wire ...

generally I would say take it with expression. Theoretically, a solution might look like habs (but not yet even tried, so I make no claim to accuracy, see it) rather than food for thought:
Creating a Comp, cramming your icons. All ads on 3d. In the position parameter of each layer with the following expressions (experiment no idea whether the Expressions with 3D and) work in combination as synonymous:
Take your writing before the first layer, and these expressions in the positional parameters (Alt-button press plus stopwatch). "a" and "b" stand for the layer index, ie the number of layers in your comp. This expression of the current layer is positioned exactly between the layers before and after him. So must be "a" of the layer in front of your current, "b" of it.
(thisComp.layer (a). thisComp.layer position + (b). position) / 2
Next, the expression must be written in the synonymous position parameter and leaves the current layer to the defined circle. "x" I think the amplitude, ie the diameter of your circle has been a while with math.

My previous way does not work, I had guessed. Meanwhile, it occurred to me a much simpler solution. Create a circle (2-D plane with) a circular mask, the mask, just press the cursor to create mid-level, Shift and Ctrl in order to anchor the mask with which the plane is identical. Otherwise it fits later, with the rotation not. Only now are the "support group" to 3D. Activate Your Icons (3D plane everywhere) flat arranged around the circle, each icon s.besten focus exactly on the edge of the circle, spacing between the icons about to set. All icons with the assistant district parent, Camera create. Then select all the icons, press Ctrl + Alt + O and click on the camera orientation. the auxiliary circle to rotate 90 degrees in the x-direction until it looks chic and then animate the z-rotation.
