Hello!
I will next year make a trip around the world and would like to take this in a movie stick - synonymous here if I have a few derogatory comments about holiday films have read ;-).
So far I have mainly documentaries and holiday movies with the family and rotated cut. Now, I am missing a few ideas about the movie is not boring to make, especially since I'm traveling alone. Na and himself to film is synonymous or not so easy is synonymous boring.

Are You the World, a theatrical film or do you want to simply document your trip?
Since I expect times of the latter depends on the shooting schedule of your objectives, length of stay, mobility, etc..
Do you have a fixed route with a rigid schedule or travel you just start editing away and imagine where you s.nächsten day (or next month) want out?

As quite unnecessarily, I feel education amateur movies, so according to the motto, now I show you times South Africa, which has never been determined before someone seen in a documentary.

In the itinerary are (for cost reasons) the flights are already fixed. Otherwise, I know, only what I see around the country wants. Detailed but not really what is planned.

What's else except for food and transport (eg, with the bus and a few chickens across Mexico)?

I would, with good visibility, synonymous flying out from the filming and snippets of this material with an animation on the route connecting / fade. So like in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.

With Google Maps, I have already a high-resolution map of the world created to identify the route. That makes very good ;-)
A continuous history of travel to construct ... which should be quite a challenge. Do I have me go through your head as to what can make it ;-)

On the issue itself, I would shoot times Survivorman Google. Runs on Discovery.
Maybe somewhere you can download clips or consequences. Les Stroud does it alone, so the camera settings, camera by dragging the wilderness and so next. Have a look at how his style is and maybe you can so something snapped.
Another recommendation would be Man vs.. Wild, Bear Gryls although always with Kameraman still has but he makes himself much synonymous.

There are only two possibilities: either you have already an idea of the journey and inspiration with a plan, or no plan and lets you easily through the spontam spot emerging experiences inspire and impress.

My tips:
1) Prepare your equipment well before (Batteries test all camera functions out which accessories to choose carefully and possibly add enough tapes / memory with you, carefully packed bag). Even if you have no other accessories mitnimmst: A Windschutzfell for the camera microphone is in many outdoor scenes incredibly valuable.
2) driving without a rigid film-going approach and instead collect on the spot as much material as possible and take everything with film, what you like at the moment appears interesting (pictures in different sizes attitude, pans in various speeds, apparently secondary to intermediate cuts - and synonymous single Sounds / Music Atmos or Samaritans, which you later put on other images could, just as the camcorder and audio recorder to use the Picture in the moment ignore).

to 1) This is the most important. There is nothing worse than find somewhere that you actually have something important need would. They lose so much more time after purchase, as you might think.
to 2) my problem with my road trip is always synonymous, that I sometimes missing gap filler, even though I am already better. Make too much material rather full, rather than too little. Omission in the post is always there!
to 3) The people will always stare when you get somewhere with Tripod appear. Sometimes it is of advantage. Have noticed if I make recordings with Tripod run me into the picture less people!
to 4) Tripod, Tripod, Tripod, so I see the thing. If you travel by car with you, it is important to have one too, you can quickly pack up and synonymous quickly operational.

There is no spot of earth that has not already been documented. And many documentaries as I have seen video on TV and recorded synonymous.
If I movie, but even there, then I make no additional "pseudo-documentary universe" but rather consider only highly personal impressions noted. Of course everyone can do what he wants, that's just my opinion.
