Infoseite // Is iMac 24 "(2.16 GHz) for AVC-HD cameras?

Frage von Maverick1408:

Hi together,

I have an iMac 24 "(1.-generation Core 2 Duo, 2.16 GHz," better "ATI Radeon with 256 MB VRAM, 2 GB RAM, Ext LaCie with Firewire 800) and am looking for a new HD Camera .

The two representatives are interesting for me
Canon HF10 and the SonyHDR-SR11.

Has an experience, whether the iMac performance technically suitable for the cameras (my AMD XP 4600 + in the company may in any event no AVC HD output smooth ...)

Thank you in advance & Greetings
Maverick1408

PS. It is with Final Cut Express 4.0 later be cut - but this can be AVC-HD editing with no loss, right?

Antwort von MaGeKo:

Hello,

for AVCHD editing, I use both a MacBook with 2.4 GHz as synonymous with a new iMac 2.8 GHz. On both computers work with the latest Leopard and a Pana SD5 under 4.0 FCE absolutely smoothly.

Lt. current comparison test after the release of the new iMac's is the Performacezuwachs oversee. It should therefore work well.

I would be in the choice of camera, but make sure that they are of FCE supports. Apparently there are in the Pana SD9 problems. Further details available on the Apple page.

Take care,
MaGeKo
