I have a JVC GR D50 camcorder!
After expiration of the warranty, I am somehow the firewire Anschlusss become corrupt.
Now I am testing the videos yourself, but with USB Mixer with image I just get videos in format Image Size: 320 x 240
Colors: 320
Frame Rate: 25.00!
720x576 but I can save!
Is there perhaps a software-how to format USB or MIT
work only with FIREWIRE?

The GR-D50 I do not know, but in general it would be normal for a camcorder, via USB only photos and webcam videos or greater. Insofar 320x240 probably synonymous with the D50 the best quality, the USB can provide. If your camcorder has analog outputs, however, you could be the full video quality in this way transferred - on the way to the PC would have the signal back through an A / D converter digitized.

A / D What do you mean? A / D = analog / digital. Search in interest here in the forum times for "Canopus ADVC" because these are such A / D converter.

As far as I am on the distance you can see, there are three options:
1. The camcorder repaired.
2. About Analog Y / C and A / D converter capture.
3. Another DV camcorder for capturing use.
All three possibilities are likely to more or less the same price and USB is coming (like Bernd already said) no alternative. Points 1 and 3 would have the advantage that the automatic scene separation can be used, which is an analog transmission would not be the case.
