'm New here in the forum and I've logged in once because I had nen Problem with the 16:9 format.
The MPG "MOD" files that have to be stored on the disk, unfortunately, synonymous with the 16:9 to 16:9 recording flag is not set.
So the images in 4:3 format can be played.
Both the MS Media Player as synonymous various video editing programs will not recognize the 16:9 format.
A friend has now written nen small tool to original MOD files to MPG files and rename the same time set the 16:9 flag.
The tool I would ask for free disposal.

Somehow, the tool is not funzt correct, only about half a second then 16:9, then turn it back on, at 4:3!

So I use it with the MOD files of my Panasonic SDR-S100 and since it is working fine. Take s.du have the "set widescreen checkmark" synonymous set. I can not imagine that the MOD files to MC500 are structured differently.
If you can provide me with a mini MOD file, then I could see why.
Or maybe try this older version V1.96beta when it comes to I know why it is probably synonymous:
