Infoseite // Japan vs. NTSC. NTSC-US

Frage von psavigny:

There are between PAL and NTSC-Japan-US still another difference besides the black level (0 vs. IRE. 7.5)? According to the Wikipedia entry for NTSC, this difference by adjusting the brightness is corrected during playback.

But I have sometimes synonymous here of an alleged difference between NTSC 4.43 and NTSC 3.58 U.S. read in Japan, and of a supposed difference between lff uff and as far as the field order.

Can we now with Japanese DV camcorders recorded videos on American equipment (except of the brightness) to play smoothly and dub or not? (One of my colleague from the United States must know that.)

Antwort von Markus:

Hello Peter,

synonymous, both Japan and North America use the NTSC television standard-M, which is described as synonymous NTSC 3.58. My (previous) knowledge the only difference being the IRE level. From a different field order for the data-recording with a camcorder I know nothing. For NTSC 4.43 You can find an explanation in the ug links.
