directional microphones as the mke300 are purely technical reasons mono ...
synonymous 5.1 recordings are mostly with "mono" microphone made ... it comes much more to the art of mixing or arrangement of microphones - you take 2x the mke300 you can make synonymous stereo ... whether you need it is another question.
