Infoseite // MPEG2 to integrate Powerpoint!?

Frage von cawdor:

Hello,
so far we have always MPEG1 - Files used in PPT presentations, as MPEG2 at full Resolutionzu feel deeply jerky. Does anyone know a way you can play MPEG2 files properly from PPT? Directly or DVDs?

The whole thing should run in full screen without having to start and be an extra program. To have the corresponding media player or DVD software in the background already ruled out as well, since one always at the switch provides the control panel.

As a result, it should be such that they link to one of the PPT file and click Next, the film accrues in full screen. Someone an idea?

ciao

Well, a little more than your Harware information would not be so bad!
Wow, check out the hardware acceleration to reduce the graphics card in stages: press the right mouse button on Desktopoberfäche, properties-> Settings-> Advanced-> Troubleshoot there with slider slightly to the left.
Otherwise experimental times Xvid Avi running smoothly s.etwa PII 500th You get the codec here: You can convert http://www.koepi.org/xvid.shtml, eg with SUPER: http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html
But be warned, this may take ......

Sorry, I forgot to mention that the whole s.besten synonymous with old hardware should run well, because I do not know where the PPT will ultimately play. To exotic codecs should therefore be avoided necessarily synonymous.

Old hardware, what does that mean exactly? The jerking may be a sign that you are coming so slowly s.deren limits (I know from work laptop to my wife ...).
For MPEG-2 applies with the hardware acceleration, whether in your case, what does ought to try you. And see also whether it might have a newer graphics card drivers for your box there, and whether the last Directx version (for XP is the most 9c) is installed.

If not, you can try it quiet times with Xvid, it is not at an exotic, and the software has not fallen at synonymous uninstall easily, the advantage for older hardware MPEG-2 is compared to their low system resource starvation, and the smaller size at least equal quality, and she is also a opensource free of course.
But it is your decision ....

Since it will run on windows is probably a wmv-FILM or even a mpeg, the right choice. If it synonymous to run on older machines DU synonymous probably have an older codec so choose not MPEG2 or divx .... Good quality compression just calls computational power.

The IndeoCodec was once synonymous times very well suited for it.

Going back to your question:
MPEG2 smoothly on old Calculator "will not work.

And when I think s.meinen oldest Laptop Pentium 2 / 500, then the disk capacity with 6MB (Less is Win 98) not exactly exhilarating. As a naturally a strong and well-compression codec like Xvid / Divx, which is easily wiedergegben comes at just the right ...

Exactly that is synonymous described in the last c't.
Unfortunately, this does not work for me synonymous.

1. on the calculator was created on the PPT, it is running. (Win2k)
2. prof with PNG on the laptop (XP) brought, they are not running.
3. All films are but with the MPC smoothly.

So have plenty of power and the codecs available.

I wanted to s.Stelle of "Insert / Movies and Sound / Movie from File" s.der place the MPC calling with the parameter "D: \ PPT-1 \ film-1".
If synonymous go, if you know the syntax (;-))

Who knows, or who does not have a viable idea?

I have until now always carry a PC to the seminary,
just because I have the PPT on the laptop did not bring up and running.

So drag Pc into the seminary? I would rather look around for other software (eg http://de.openoffice.org/product/impress.html, sorry, I'm Openofficefan) ..

But at the MS-Powerpoint: you have checked schonmal-ms in the knoledge base? As is already some in there ....

Thanks to you to Marburg

whether MP or MPC should now be no time preference, the main thing it is.
Unfortunately, the matter but a serious disadvantage:
in the URL MUST be given the full path, eg
C: \ Documents and Settings \ Hannes \ My Documents \ My Videos \ PPT-1 \ film-1.mpg

This path will change, but if I burn the PPT on CD!

Thus we have again the incompatibility.
(or am I'll make a flaw?)

I thought rather s.einen virtual path, where it is then no preference,
In the folder location of the film.
Only the film's name, as appropriate, and hope that the searches in the current directory that does not work.

Original MS:
"If you include multimedia with your presentation, PowerPoint does not support cross-platform or multiple-computer compatibility."

from: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/322319/de

Change you had probably better with a USB stick or memory card with, if (the drive letter, and thus the paths) remains the same.
But I'm not necessarily an MS-Powerpoint expert .....
