Hello,
since May (before everything) makes the WindowsMediaPlayer9 (synonymous 11) problems with the playing of the MPG2 video files:
1. After closing the WMPl still remains in Taskmanager (CPU at 50%). Only on "End Process" finish possible.
2. Freezing during playback continues despite playing bar. Quit it
3. Freeze after pressing stop button. Quit it
For DV-AVI or AVI DivX no problems. So MPG2 codec broken.
No problems with NeroShowTimePlayer, PowerCinema or Media Player Classic. (Separate MPG2 codecs?)
How do I find the codec of the WMPl used? Hab ja drauf number in the system.
Wanted to exchange it or reinstall it if I know what type / manufacturer.
System: XP SP2, IntelP4 HT 3.0 GHz, 1024MHz memory
Here even the codecs according to device manager / video codecs.

Problem solved
under File / Properties of WMPl the Deoder displayed.
It was the most-DScaler mpeg2 video decoder installed Prog AVI2DVD
the problems brought. The Prog uninstalled and removed the remains and another decoder works fine.
