I read quite some time to review, test, etc. and have already received much information. Thank you very much.
I have now bought a used EX1 and work my way through the manual. Unfortunately I can not find a page, where I can read how the macro function will take effect on. I set the macro switch to ON, but can not continue focusing at close range. The minimum distance is at 80cm, as synonymous with no macro setting.
Maybe someone can give me a hint? (I have used the search function already claim to find, but unfortunately nothing.)

Are you possibly focus mode "Full MF" (focus ring pulled back)? The macro function works only with "AF" and "MF", that is when the focus ring pushed forward.

Thank you for your answer.
The focus ring is set to AF / MF, the AUTO iris, focus on AUTO.
