Infoseite // Macvideoprogrammen of memory problems on external hard drive

Frage von Christoph....:

Hello,

I recently got an external USB 2 hard drive purchased. It works with my OS X version s.meinem iBook G4. If I have video projects in iMovie or FinalCut store will remain in the established material, the Project itself will not be saved.

How can I solve this problem? For tips, I would be very grateful.

Viele Grüße - Christoph

Have you ever in the Documents folder under FinalCut nachgeschaut.
It lays down that same program is classified, while the pure film footage somewhere on your disk (hard drive) as "Capture Scratch" is stored.
By: with Spotlight (top, far right!)'s Can be quite good looking and yet still some unknown page of the iBooks discover!

If you are not on the disk reformatted did buy, it has perhaps the NTFS filesystem, then you can of the plate is read but not write it.

Just by the hard disk utility on HFS (Mac OS Extended / Advanced) reformat, you should go.

No, it is not. The technical data of your computer I'm not interested.

How are you going exactly in the programs? What did you do? What exactly does not? What you realize that it does not work? What have you already tried to resolve the problem? What settings do you have in the programs? If the external disk as a recording medium defined? Which format is your external disk? Did you purchase it after the formatting? Can normal data write to disk? And please do not Breiantwort, but to every question an answer. Otherwise we solve the problem.

Hello,

- How are you going exactly in the programs? What did you do?

I plan a movie in iMovie rough cut and then with the cut material in FinalCut continue. (This is not relevant to the problem)

I have a new iMovie project on the external hard drive is created. Thus, it is, I think, as a recording medium defined. Then I got the material of the camera and recorded on the hard drive is stored. The material is definitely synonymous to the hard drive. Writing on the plate is possible.

- What exactly does not? What you realize that it does not work?

If I use the material in the timeline prefer cut and sort, then save the program and finish it the next time you open it the message: "x is not assigned Clipdateien are located in the project folder. Do the objects move in the Clips." When I was doing, my material (but just the material) if available as the last save. Ie deleted scenes, there is no more material is cut - if the trash was emptied - in the cut form. The material remains in the processed form. Any other information about position in the Program (or timeline Clips), position in the timeline, effects seem to be missing. The order of the clips, according to the numbering given in the insert.
Also a new store will lead to change None of the results.

What have you already tried to resolve the problem?

- Again, saving

What settings do you have in the programs?

- IMovie has virtually no control - and not the saving concern.

If the external disk as a recording medium defined?

- Yes, by creating the project file on the disk (?)

Which format is your external disk?

- Macintosh PC Exchange (MS-DOS)

Did you purchase it after the formatting?

- No, because to write other files (Word, Powerpoint ...) did.

Can normal data write to disk?

- Yes.

Thank you.
