Infoseite // Matrox RT.X2 - various questions

Frage von Supe:

Hello experts!

I have now converted my system: Quad Core CPU, (; GB RAM, 1 TB SATA disks and disk + system - new - Matrox RT.X2, so I now synonymous work entirely in HD and can be cut. Windows Vista (; Aero, 64bit), Adobe Premiere CS4 and MX.tool 4.01. Cam: Cabnon XH-A1.

Yesterday I did something HDV captured material, which is very well ran.
I have a few questions:

01. Is it generally better in the future instead of 25p to 50i?

02. The capturing, I have the Component-Out made. Firewire is of course synonymous. Is there a serious difference in what the image quality is concerned?

Unfortunately I find no way to my JVC TM-H150CG use. Right? But if I now synonymous focused largely on wants to go to HD, would be synonymous HD-Ready TFT (; DVI) better, right?

03. Can a JVC TM-H150CG s.die Matrox connected to a preview image to get? If no, what with TFT screen, 1920 × 1080 points, you can monitor as a friend? (; If possible in the affordable range. Color can I have a Spyder 3 elite do.)

Thanks for your tips and help in advance!

Hi Supe,

Question 03: Can you not because the outputs of the BreakOutBox (Component, S-video) for your JVC TM-H150CG for previewing use the output format, but can then adjust in Premiere.

On the subject TFT monitor, the DVI output of the RT.X2 is on a monitor with 1920x1200 resolution mandatory - in other words, how MATROX feels somewhat cheap computer monitor - and not a Full HD with 1920x1080 pixels! Apart from the fact that these favorable as 22 "-24" Monitors are often enlarged, hard to subdue on the color, they have the miserable status at 60Hz refresh rate designed to be. As an NTSC user probably ok for us as users with PAL HDV 1080i at 50Hz and this is a non judderfreie image. Almost all of these monitors can not 50Hz. Here we are once again fully pinched, I would spontaneously for clean 50Hz playback only the EIZO HD2442W idea, but with a price of> 1000, - Euro is certainly not a particularly good can be.

I use the RT.X2 LE, ie without a DVI output, I therefore instructed the component output - and because it looks cheap with monitors with 1920x1200 Resolutionund corresponding input even worse. My reflections, therefore, go in the direction as a monitor as a device which, synonymous as the target playback device available - a Full-HD TV. There is a large analog and digital connectivity including component input, appropriate color and 50Hz hardly a problem. Only when I am 60-80cm distance vision s.Schnittplatz currently synonymous of smallest Full HD TV with 32 "diagonal actually too big. If you just try, there's even contemporaries who are in front of a 40" Full HD s.Schnittplatz very comfortable.

Small 22 "-26" LCD Full HD monitors with TV reception part, as they are now increasingly synonymous quite favorable (250-300 euros), are not synonymous accurate alternative in cutting operation, because it is cheap TN panel with High viewing angle dependency is based, in part with uneven illumination and synonymous with the color problem to have - they are more synonymous primarily as a PC monitor and is not intended as a video monitor. Since 32 "Full HD TVs now for under $ 500 to get, they would be at least a superior alternative, but if you still synonymous with cheaper HD-Ready TV sets in the range of 26" -30 "s.Schnittplatz happy, I can not judge.

Hope I could help a bit, Gruss hkrull

Hkrull Hello!

Okay, I see the misery and thank you for your detailed information relating to.

Yes, I could JCC on S-video use. I think I will just make synonymous.

The more than 1000 EUR variant is mom. no longer there. The Matrox was already not so cheap.

If Matrox but necessarily on a 1920 x 1200 monitor consists why could then under-500EUR-32 "Full HD (ie 1920 x 1080i) an alternative? It would then not s.der Matrox work, or understand I got this wrong? If so, it would be for me the best alternative, because that would be my goal. Should the 24p can be synonymous? And what would be there with DVI input?

The same as goggle-box in the living room (52 'SonyBravia) wanted me to work again is not room.

Hi Supe,

So .... the 1920x1200er Resolutionist mandatory for the DVI output, since all other benefits of my knowledge, nothing and it will probably be ugly distortion, if ever a presentation on the Full-HD TV will be possible. MATROX is probably the reason synonymous a DVI connection -> computer monitor and have no HDMI for the multimedia world.
I can not say whether the combi-DVI to HDMI adapter cable with the appropriate direction in Full HD TV, since the TV only 1920x1080 resolution Answer wants. In my opinion, a very shortsighted decision with the binding 1200 pixels, whether it sometime in the context of MATROX firmware updates RT.X2 the opportunity to give umswitchen, if, as predicted, the monitor manufacturer in the manufacture of their panels only on the 16:9 format is limited to have? A tendency is clearly visible and economically is a second 16:10 format s.sich synonymous sense to why it ever had to give the format, although for the TV world has long been the world's 16:9 format was announced, I shut.

What but hopefully safe in the 1920x1080 format should work, is the component connection, synonymous with the vast majority of the Full-HD TVs equipped. One should perhaps not so much s.dem "non-digital" connection disturb via component is a first class hochaufgelöstetes TV Signal transferable - not only through a digital connection like DVI or HDMI. I had MATROX RT.X2 forum even an admission of MATROX read, where they have admitted that the thumbnail on the main components of better quality (sharper) than on DVI: "The resolution would be the same, it's the picture quality that is a little lower. As you and other users on this thread mentioned, the component out is much sharper compared to DVI out. "

http://forum.matrox.com/rtx2/viewtopic.php?t=2049&highlight=dvi + + component

Bitter, of course, that you bought the expensive DVI port then do not use. That was one reason among others for my purchase of the LE version, the restriction on the computer, according 1920x1200 resolution, which now apparently is not quite the future will be when the industry is at the sole 16:9 format as Widescreenformat agrees. But as I said, maybe there's MATROX with a firmware update to react. I have made a very timely one test with a 32 "Full HD TV action. I will very carefully to the adjustability of the colors / brightness and contrast values synonymous and a 1:1 pixel mapping on the component input is mandatory necessary so that no Picture-trimming takes place. This will hopefully be sufficient available options, I am already in a test of a 24 "multimedia computer monitors, the LG246WHX with component input! failed. From the 50Hz problem would grow. Whether I am, however, with a 32 "screen can s.Schnittplatz friends, I will probably see synonymous. Whether 24p must surely depends of your projects.

Hkrull Hi!

In the video section, it seems unlikely to give clear solutions.

The DVI-I output, it is not compulsory, if the signal from the component output is good. I realize that in the price segment, not a professional tool can be expected.

I now have two options as a control screen envisaged:

a) 32 "LCD TV - LG 32LG7000 32" LCD TV
http://www.computeruniverse.net/products/90290282/d1/Produkt-Informationen-Details/lg-32lg7000-schwarz.asp
(; Hat is now a component input? YUV? I look not, as the connections to everything else hot).

or

b) 24 "TFT - NEC EA241WM-BK
http://www.computeruniverse.net/products/90307195/nec-multisync-ea241wm-schwarz.asp

I have seen synonymous nor the

c) HP LP2475w
http://www.prad.de/new/monitore/test/2008/test-hp-lp2475w.html, is synonymous in the Matrox forum called.

Next are: BenQ G2400WD and antülcih EIZO (too expensive).

The tendency is rather to the TV.
With 32 "I can just friends.

Which would you rather take a friend or what?
On Novelties wait is always yes, but not now, I wanted to.
P.32 a test "I can be happy times synonymous - to your instructions - to carry out.

Okay, the LG, I will most likely take.

Alternatively, I have the Samsung SyncMaster 2494HM Black found the alleged 50 Hz at 1920 x 1080 Bilschirmpunkten do, but NOT a LCD TV. And then even less than 300 EUR.
Is probably the most correct?

Antwort von hkrull:

Hallooooo,

Caution, however, the Samsung is 16:9 with 1920x1080 pixel Full HD So with DVI and HDMI and VGA - good but not everything - you need a monitor with 1920x1200 pixels and 16:10 to the DVI output of the RT.X2 to use or a monitor with component input, if it is 16:9 with 1920x1080 pixel has.

The Matrox RT.X2-DVI output provides a 16:10-picture with 1920x1200 pixels, in the 16:9 Full HD 1920x1080 Picture with embedded and two black stripes of each 60 pixels above and below to be added.

The said SAMSUNG SyncMaster 2494HM is a computer monitor of the new 16:9-generation - but you can output your s.DVI MATROX RT.X2 not use synonymous if he can 50Hz! That is with the new 16:9 computer monitors expected MATROX RT.X2-DVI problem!

Oooo-kay, :-)

Yes, I had the same thought. I was only at the request of the JVC yet noticed, but now I definitely ordered. I think if it is the target device, one can thus reasonably well auhc control. We delivered tomorrow.

I sell my JVC incidentally. Money must be so again.

Thank you for your almost lexicons entrepreneurial entry here and the statements for me, especially for your trouble.

You write: "I was only at the request of the JVC yet noticed, but I've definitely now ....." and then "do I sell my JVC Incidentally ...

What did you gegönnt now, I thought we last spoke about a LG Full HD Monitor?

With my hard mach 'you do not mind the theme video preview monitor and / or MATROX RT.X2 is a little tricky to get the angelesen has, or has become clear about what works and what does not work, I synonymous some time. Unfortunately, we are here in Europe with PAL 50Hz not very big target group for the Manufacturer of all these wonderful "Video Games", a wrong decision or even a wrong is done quickly, the big media are dominated Temple of the Ahnungslosen and do not all have there fashionable devices - so it is because the relevant forums, with the necessary knowledge and can go further. Have I done so gladly and has fun. Maybe I can once synonymous of experience to your benefit!

So ordered the 32LG5700 LCD TV, 32 "at CU with a percentage and will be tomorrow gelifert for EUR 450." Was I just in the ordering of the JVC yet noticed, but now I've definitely had ....." JVC wrong here replaced by LG. was already mentally in the sale.

My JVC CRT I actually sell, s.weil I need the money, b) I do not have as much space and c) because I have another three parts on the table did - NEC 21 "(Adobe CS4), NEC 19" ( expanded view) and then as the LG control. In the living room then the HTPC s.SonyBravia 52 ", almost to the final :-)

Well, here in the forum is still there, but elsewhere there are many times only to what your ears if you ask and does not really know what and how you should actually ask. I myself do a lot in PSCS4 and Cinema 4D or anything with software / hardware from Windows XP to 2008 Server. Since blowing a wind through the other forums. Deshlab I am always grateful for help.

So: Thank you.
