Hello! I'm new here at the Hobbyfilmern and soon is it so far. In just over 1 months, I get my Canon EOS 5D MKII.
I myself am a hobby photographer begeisteter and understand some of the photographs and of the technique, however, when shooting, I usually get fairly quickly.
I have a relatively good Canon photo equipment with numerous lenses which I s.der new camera can be reusing.
Because when I want to shoot off my choice was quickly made. How did I get a Camera and a movie camera in one.
So far I have always with a Traveler filmed by Aldi, which has annoyed me was totally sound.

2. On the photos it looks as if it was on the hot shoe of the camera may be stuck. Fits are synonymous to the Canon EOS hot shoe?
I assume the new 5D Blitzschuh the same as all other EOS cameras.
3. If the Rode is not recommendable, what then?
Bin grad in Vorfreudestimmung. :-) I buy the camera mainly for photographing, but with the video function is a small wish come true.

If the Canon EOS 5D a standard hot shoe has the fit there synonymous Microphone rauf. I can not imagine it yet another hot shoe has fit up there. If not, give it an adapter!

Embarrassed after very long for the superior Rode decided ...
Have a few Höhrtests with the RodeVideoMic (stereo) on my homepage .. Maybe that helps a little ...
I see whether it is an external Micro pays to buy ..

Embarrassed after very long for the superior Rode decided ... The Sennheiser MKE 400 is a mono-directional microphone. The Rode Stereo VideoMic (as the name suggests) a stereo microphone.
A Steromikrofon take for general sound (atmosphere) and excellent stereo sound sources (orchestras, choirs, passing cars, etc.). Since virtually every camcorder has a built in stereo microphone, may you sense the quiet question. An external microphone makes sense, if the built-in camcorder-Microphone to poor quality, too many noises transfers and / or inadequate against wind noise can be secure. In the case of the Canon 5DII lights of course, a necessity.
A clip-on mono-directional microphone is used when a single sound source in a certain distance best wishes, but the microphone can not heranbringen. The typical application is the recording of Language.

So I guess whether or rode MKE videomic does not make huge difference ... gibts also synonymous of rode become a stereo videomic;)
I've rode the videomic on my dv-camera ...
But what happened to me in regard to your new canon rather make sure the length of the microphone ... in the worst case, you have wide angle lenses at the microphone at the top of the building;)
