Hello,

I have a miniDV tape (origin material was Hi8) to play on the PC (with Magix Video Deluxe 15). Everything seems to have worked, but GSpot tells me: "5 GB of unneeded byte s.end of file"

The AVI file is a total of 10 GB in size. Has something to say?

Then I would not worry about. DV - Video eats about 13 GB for 60 minutes. The size of your data file is correct as it is. By contrast, the display of GSpot is not correct, what the supposed 5 GB surplus is concerned.
