Hi,
I have researched and learned a lot, but I am come in a material respect to None yet clear opinion. Therefore, I would now like to ask once in the round, as your opinion is ..

Seeking an opportunity in the form of mobile HD video editing. The material is available in AVCHD format and will be processed and made available on YouTube on the road. It will be created with clips approximately 3-5 minutes in length. The entire process should be done on the notebook (including soundtrack).
Important to me is that the device is robust and requires no external power sources as long as possible. Price I put me a 1,000 to 1,500 ¬ before - less is better, of course:)

Currently I am working with Edius 5.1 on a desktop system. Edius will be my version of a notebook, however, too large ...

Now to my problem:
I vacillate between a notebook PC and a MAC. I find both have their advantages and disadvantages. At the MAC I would have to get used to Final Cut, a PC laptop I'd probably resort to EDIUS Neo.
But I just do not find the clear arguments for or against MAC ...

Who can give me the decision or helpful suggestions?

I see no reason that speaks against Edius on the notebook. So that you are after all already trained. Besides the removal of the USB dongle synonymous would have the Neo version no advantage. You can even install Edius on both computers and reposition the dongle at any time (it just must not forget that when you go out with the notebook).

Hi Jens,

if you been working with Edius 5:12, then you should stay here.
1st Edius Neo Booster can edit AVCHD natively, no conversion necessary. As far as I know, Final Cut Pro without the conversion (= time / disk space) is not.
2nd In a few days there will be an update to Edius 5.5, which can just as Neo Booster edit AVCHD natively.
3rd The incorporation in Final Cut Pro certainly takes his time and Final Cut Pro costs a rod Money.
4th When it comes to you around the image, take a Mac and Final Cut Pro with the mentioned disadvantages in Comparison to Edius.

I work mostly on the road on my laptop (CoreDuo, 2.5 GHZ, 4GB RAM) with 5:12 in Edius HDV and after the appearance of Neo Booster with this program in AVCHD. There is no better / faster workflow is not the time.

Greetings!
Gerhard

In the next few days new Macbooks come out. Fits all. I'm waiting on a synonymous superbeschleunigtes Final Cut Pro update.
