Mpg2HD besser als H.264-AVC?

Mpg2HD better than H.264-AVC?

Frage von videofreak52:
Juli 2010

In the WEB I found this statement:

"As a final format for Blu-ray AVCHD camera owners currently use the MPEG2-HD codec, because it still delivers a better picture quality than the output to H.264 AVC."

What do you think?

Greeting

Antwort von RickyMartini:

The BQ of H.264 is worse in EDIUS and PPro CS4 / 5, as of the MPEG2-HD, which can confirm myself.

Antwort von domain:

Mpeg2 is far from written off. First of all here is the iron law: more synonymous mbs mean better picture quality, what with h.264 according WoWus statements applies not more synonymous and second place today Manufacturers such as Canon with their new cameras to this format and, although with four : 2-2 and 100 mbs or more.
General play in today's technology and even higher data rates at synonymous SDHC little more role in the recording. So why would you even try with all means, use a highly compressed format with huge computational complexity of recording and editing in NLE?
In the future it will be exactly the other way to run: more single compression with high data rates and without the huge computational cost of running over long image sequences compression.
MJEPG indicates the direction.

Antwort von atzinger6:

one looks closely at h.264, you can see he is a lot better with proper configuration as its predecessor.

Antwort von WoWu:

One should not compare apples with pears and that which speaks clearly to the low efficiency of the MPEG2 codec.
When I look at 100 Mbit / s with 100 Mbit / s in the matching AVC profiles, looks something like MPEG2 of pale.
In addition, one must not forget that with increasing the bit rate performance of these cards have to be adjusted. This is simply a question of price.
In the Bewegungsprädiktion AVC already has his nose in front, even though (in the interests of the cheaper tickets) is currently the "worst" Profiles are used, the format has to offer at all.
To that extent do the camcorder, compared with higher bit rates in MPEG2 the same, perhaps even synonymous something worse, maybe, maybe if they catch a bad AVC implementation.

So: no one compares with MPEG2 AVC 77 -100 Mbit / s, compared with the AVC data rate of the identical data rate for MPEG2.
Or the other way around, will compare AVC 100 4.0.oder 4.1, with the usual MPEG2 because here the data rates would be about the same.

And do recognize the trend, since the domain will only take place where some as long as possible with is to earn the now really cheap license that has become MPEG2 Money.
Meantime, there are no more chip manufacturers, the new developments with an MPEG2 implementation of the portfolio has.
Probably slept through all domains trend.
