Infoseite // Multicore utilization at Premiere? Dual Core or Quad to buy?

Frage von benular:

Hello!

Until now I have on his 3.4 GHz Pentium 4 cut and slowly but surely must be something new her. Since the Intel quad now become economically attractive, (http://geizhals.at/deutschland/a217708.html), I would like to NEN new system build out.

But do not know now whether it may be kicked out but money is because I just look at his friend with Core2Duo premiere and I've installed the utilization in taskmanager've viewed. The only hung around 60%. So apparently were not times 2 cores fully utilized .. The quad would get bored and yes performance would lie fallow.
I am first nor DV editing, but in particular with such things as Magic Bullet, which my P4 really cripple.

So here might be a new quad NEN and can confirm that what it takes or not. Or the times when rendering the task load on the 4 cores watch? Otherwise, I would probably first only small NEN C2D fetch.

Thank you for your attention

Hello!

If you're with Adobe Premiere 2 (CS2) work I did this search (http://forum.slashcam.de/sehr-schlechte-performance-of-premiere-20-with-intel-quad-core-cpu- vt46294.html? start = 0 & postdays post = 0 & order = asc & highlight = DeckLink) found.

If you, like me, want to work with CS3, so Premiere Pro 3.0, then can I give you my performance test results posted next week. Although I have "only a 6600er Intel Quad, 8 GB on a Asus P5WDG2 WAS Pro, but I think so should I get a meaningful result. In addition, there's a BM DeckLink HD Extreme PCIe and an ATI 1800 XT PCIe applications.

Best Regards,
Supe

yes, thanks to you, the thread I once read. sounds not so rosy.

I still currently working with Premiere Pro 1.5, would then equal to 2 or change CS3 with the new system

why because "only"? is a top akuelles system and exactly the Q6600, I have linked to me I will actually pick synonymous.

yes if you could give feedack times, once you have the computer, I would be very pleased. I would be reluctant to buy the quad, where the performance is not being used. which is really quite poor were of adobe.

It still went faster than expected.
After today, I Vista, XP (x32) and freshly installed with the latest drivers and updates and then each with AMC CS3 which, I have the Slashcam AFX render test made under the two systems:

Vista Score: 425 seconds
Win XP Pro Score: 447 seconds

So no major differences, though I would have thought that the Aero performance would pull down. The RAM usage was moderate, although only 4 GB could be used.

The CPU utilization on both systems when rendering was around 60%. See pictures. On my previous system (AMD XM2 4200 +) stood at 77% utilization.

zverlässig wait up to a Q6600 with G0 - Stepping get. Could have 2.3 weeks until the first with B0 are sold.
The B0 run very hot (135 W) at full load and have teiweise thermal problems that are much newer and cooler can be a lot better over clock. 4 x 3.2 gz should be so stable and without his effort inside.

Deepcode Hi!

We are talking here of a Q6600 with G0 Stepping. The processor ID is PCG-05A LG775 (see intel: http://processorfinder.intel.com/details.aspx?sSpec=SLACR). With overclocking, I am always a little cautious. I will occasionally try and the CPU with Prime torment.

Update:
Okay, overclocking could not wait. The CPU is now running at 3000 MHz (FSP at 1333.8 MHz, the multiplier 9, Vcore 1.328 V and Bus speed 333 MHz) on this board (ASUS P5WDG2 WAS) stable. The render time of Slashcam Wire tests has of 425 to 358 seconds (Vista, 447 under 354 under XP) improves, while the temperature - with the boxed cooler - of 47 to max. 54 ° C increased. The CPU has not changed much.
