I just watched the film myself. First of all subjective: I liked it.

But I think the change of the two views to abrubt-comical in any way. But I am not sure how to grad synonymous something riff better. If yes synonymous only kleinigkeit as the technique, because you can turn a blind eye about it.
The idea of combining a love story with a "war film" I find to be very successful, synonymous if they had the part a little love can expand or to shorten the war part.
What I found was a bit of a pity, that hardly any part in the war came emotions. He had been of the mood, the attitude and the music is not just the feeling that the Army Nikolai loves service. One would have to show more emotion than his comrades fell.
But such a sentimental and appealing amateur film I have not seen for a long time.
