It will not work to croak: I take a wav file in AE 6.0, open them in the timeline and the composition window, press "play" in time management and I hear nothing. The same with a video / audio file. Picture, yes, but no sound.
I open the branch "switch" is marked with a tick sound.
Is there perhaps somewhere, make a hidden default?

Push once to the time controls at the far right the "RAM Preview. Then after that will be rendered + You should hear the sound ...

Sound is played in only AE with the RAM preview. There is a second possibility:
Press CTRL and drag with the mouse over the timeline. Then you hear your audio track and you can focus on it. Real Audio gibts leider nicht.

Is quite something shameful, if such an expensive program can not even play audio in real time. Well ....
The button with the Timeline and the CTRL - I hinbekommen for pure audio files and the same with the RAM preview, like Uwe told me kindly.
But video with audio is unfortunately so far remained unsuccessful.
It can not be true that much cheaper Progam such as MSP 7
all sound and image reflect changes in real time, and in AE 6.0, there is no sound (the video) in the preview, even after saving.
The speculation also comes next.
