Hello,

to old tapes to digitize, I have our old camcorder via S-Video input (it is usually only for the composite s.Camcorders Choice) PC connected s.den (cheap Pinnacle card).
I am concerned primarily only with the digitization of the tapes, then transferred to PC and burn it short Zusammenschneiden plus.

Now to my question: When you transfer to the PC, I made the following experience:
1. with VirtualDub or cheap recording software of Pinnacle I do not use compression, I get an AVI file, with the picture but is not very clear. Sound is optimal.

2. Movie making in the movie is encoded, the quality has been noticeably better, because the picture is blurred a little more. So sharpness is lost, but brightly colored and less noisy picture. Drawback here is the sound that is pretty and quiet or humming. The controls for the sound are still pretty bland.

So is there the possibility, for example, with the results of the Movie Maker, VirtualDub achieve by using a WMV decoder (???), since the supplied compression codecs rather deliver an even worse picture.
Perhaps you have even one piece of advice for the use of an appropriate data format to Select Plus codec in VirtualDub or another program recommendation.

Then afterwards, I would like to burn a DVD, I always pick the Resolution720x576. WinXP SP2

Wmv to go through I would not take, for 1st which intersect 2nd to convert to MPEG2 brings new casualties. A reasonably useful real-time MPEG2 encoder is of MainConcept in Ulead's DVD MovieFactory (ält. cheap versions for example) with pearl. I would do this: as an AVI capture via DV camcorder with anal in or (Canopus) converter. Cut. With a good encoder (ProCoder, Cinema Craft, MainConcept) convert to MPEG2.

I was going to cut it with Premiere Elements, because I have my test WMV imported and the average time worked. That I will suffer losses as synonymous in the head, but described how it was analog capturing s.Besten qualimäßig with Movie Maker.

Where did you assess that? In the preview window on the PC monitor? - Discrepancies in Picture and Sound should not occur when you Capture the video recordings as a DV-AVI.
