Without Manufacturer, Model and the camcorder recording format and exact model number of your notebook, you'll have to wait long - Hells marriages can only Uri Geller. If you're willing Information here will facilitate the work, look before your next reply specifically to determine what connections your laptop has. Would be important whether a Firewire port (IEEE 1494 called synonymous) is tuned and what expansion cards (PC Card / ExpressCard) fit inside.

Firewire PCMCIA card or USB A / D converter / capture card
Firewire cable or the cable to the converter / capture card inserts
WinDV; Virtualdub or a video editing program (this is usually synonymous with a capture card)
These are the things you have need.

If your new laptop so berreits have a firewire port is yes then purchase a PCMCIA card or a Capture Devices fell.

PC Card is the same as PCMCIA, ExpressCard, the successor technology.
Both mainly used in notebooks.
