Frage von Tristanactor:

Hello,
I have read the FAQ 512mb are "good", more is better.
I have a laptop with 256 mb. Is that enough?

Further details of my laptop:
20GB hard drive
1024x768 pixels
AMD Athlon XP 1400 +

Is there the possibility of memory upgrade "? Is it worth it?

I have a Canon XL2 and would like an approx 80min. Film shoot.
I can imagine that the number of pixels of the camcorders it is synonymous crucial (!?)..

Regards,
Tristan

So the memory is not the biggest problem.

Suppose you'll make the video as a DV AVI on the laptop. The 80 minutes feature film will occupy at least 18 GB of data on the hard drive when the ratio of raw material: Production is exactly 1:1. With more raw material correspondingly more ...

With some editing programs with the ability to cut is a worse video and text to search only for the result of the genuine good Videoschnippsel to the tapes. According mighty is Beanpruchung the playback device) (camera.

Good luck

Hello Tristan Actor!

So at least 50GB of disk should be the grown up.
(OS + ca.18GB Rohfilm (see Stefan) + Tmp Files of Program + MPEG2 video / DVD-Output)

The main memory is bad! With 1GB can just install some video editing programs.

I would look for another calculator!
(minimum 2.6 GHz + 1GB RAM + at least 80GB disk)

Greeting
Nightfly.

I think this is somewhat excessive. Clearly, the more RAM the better. I also have 1GB, but 512MB can be synonymous with, for example, work in principle. Is ultimately synonymous with the nature / scope of the project.

Work vs. Install!?

For example, Pinnacle Studio requires 500MB

Should that be a contradiction? ;-)

With "work" I mean actual "video editing".
And: more RAM is always better logically, there was talk here is not of AAE. Of course, depend on the new software versions to the usual standards, but I have to 512MB synonymous with (and not 500?) Easily cut.

Ultimately, upgrade ever announced. Right now, when the train gen HDV ...
