Infoseite // PC too slow for HDV?

Frage von piependeckel:

Hello,

sorry that I have this question. Perhaps it was synonymous already answered somewhere, but I have not the right place.

I had until now a Sony Digital 8 Camera and have been working with DV material. That Has worked wonderfully.
Now I looked at the SonyHC3 purchased and must find that the capture HDV with Liquid 7.0 jerky. Now my question:
If the s.meiner slow hardware. With DV, I had no Probs. But apparently is HDV resource hungry.

My system: AMD XP 2200 +, 1024 MB DDR 400, 160 GB hard drive; Noname Firewire card, GeForce 6600GT.

Should I possibly Mobo and CPU upgrade or a hardware HDV card (if there is something there) to buy?

Thank you for answers.
Regards,

With my P4-3, 2GHz and 2GB RAM as well as Premiere Pro 2.0, I have no problems with HDV DV Editing.

The encoding and decoding of MPEG2 in real time is s.die limits of many systems. Look, what system requirements (minimal and recommended) for Liquid apply when HDV in the 1080i variant would like to edit:

Therefore recommends a system with 2 x P4 3 GHz processors, or with 1 x Athlon 64 X2 4000 +. Your system would not even met the minimum requirement in the form of an Athlon 64 3000 +.

The best way to find out first what processor your motherboard can tolerate a maximum. If you for example, a 3500 + to install and can possibly even duplicating the main memory, it should work. Otherwise, a new motherboard due.
The Firewire adapter card and the graphics are not decisive.

Thank you for the two quick replies.

So I will probably as fast as possible but my system must be upgraded.
The Mpeg 2 encoding is thus completely controlled by the CPU?
So I will probably NEN same as Core Duo or take. you should grab it. Or is a hardware card ne alternative?

HDV hardware solutions are moving higher price areas and are only interesting if the computer hardware has been exhausted and yet, for example, more video tracks in real-time process wants.

The hardware solutions are no more After Burner - but are now more likely to function, a correct output even when cut to an external monitor to it. For rendering gehts so primary for CPU power, dual-core systems are already a valuable consideration.

Or are you looking for a used, good old G5er Powermac order. I have a G5 with dual 2Ghz processor and 3.5 GB of RAM for ¬ 1200 was discovered. This is fun ...
