Panasonic - New FullHD camcorder HDC-SD5 and HDC-SX5 of rudi - 30 Jul 2007 10:11:00
Through the publication of the 3 models in Japan was the move to AVCHD with full 1920 horizontal pixels already in sight. However, white with the new Panasonic models, but in some surprising details:

First of all, there will be another two bauähnliche models: the HDC-SD5 records to return as the HDC-SD1 on SDHC / SD card and was at once compared to its predecessor, shrunken. The new HDC-SX5 has opposed it in itself, because this model is characterized not only on DVD, but also optional on SDHC / SD cards. Moreover, these dominated Camera Unlike your predecessor, even recording in SD format (ie 720 x 576 pixels with MPEG2). Sounds quite flexible. Both cameras are based again on 3 CCDs with 3 x 520,000 pixels gross pixelgeshifteten with Optical Image Stabilization and can now synonymous with a maximum of 13 Mbps synonymous true FullHD (1920 x 1080i) recording. But there are other news:
-A 2.7-inch display with 170 degrees is the angle of view of the synonymous Page unadulterated supply and provides insights about 300,000 pixels with a new sharpness record in the consumer class.
-The Pre-Rec function is increasing three seconds video in an internal buffer on. When you start recording, this 3-second sequence, then the new car before the images are inserted, resulting in 3 seconds, so to speak, in the past can record.

A novel contrast-control should ensure that no more lights and shadows do not fray absaufen. This is apparently an automatic leveling system.

The HDC-SX5 copied recordings by pressing a button of internal SDHC / SD card to an 8 cm DVD. The HDC-SD5 can however have a USB host functions directly to an external DVD-Burner VW-BN1 copy. This serves alternatively as a standalone HD player.

The video-editing software HD Writer "is now in version 2.0 included two models.

Both models will be available from September 2007 to Prices are not fixed yet. Technical data are collected in the course of the day published in our database.

So really FullHD probably will not, because the pixel shift of three 520,000 ja eh not so much information available as FullHD needed. They still lean 13Mbps are almost a step backwards, are not even Sony15Mbps possible? As long AVCHD 20Mbps is not synonymous and have the appropriate connections available are the cameras for me, just the 0815 Consumer devices even when mature and customers no alternative to HDV.

As I mentioned in the database Slashcam see the Camera synonymous only 1/6-Inch-CCDs (the current models have 1 / 4 inches).

Thus, the very good light sensitivity of the current AVCHD models to be vicious. In addition, the Wide Anglevon 38.5 mm to nearly 43 mm has been reduced! So almost everything that the SD1 made interesting for me, is now with the new series disappeared.
FullHD with Pixel Shift-in 500k CCDs can do in any case outweigh. So if AVCHD, then Leiber current models.

How come since Resolutionvon 1920 * 1080 = 2 Megapixel established
when in fact only 500k pixels per chip available?
Even if the 3 CCD chips "pixelgeshiftet" are, so 3 * 500k = 1.5 megapixels together, which almost exactly corresponds to 1440x1080.

It may therefore be that the Full-HD formats, hardware, they seem to be but a sham to be.

The advantage of 3 CCD would be, every pixel with 3 color device. Then you would need but please honestly 3 x 2 megapixel CCDs without spurious "pixel shifting".

Unfortunately the HDC-SD5 does not give "full HD". It * saves * Full-HD to disc or stick, by the hardware only has 3 x 500k CCD chips yielding 1.5 megapixel with pixel shifting. 1.5 megapixels is the same s.1440x1080. This gets an error to 1920x1080 which gets stored on medium wasting space for nothing.

I feel the sony with its single cx7/cx6 but true 3.2 megapixel chip does a better job. It records on one chip with mosaic pattern for the 3 different colors, then scales down 1.5 megapixels and stores only the true 1440x1080 without wasting memory for nothing. Sounds much more honest to me.
