Pc screen to use HD as a preview monitor! Is that possible?

I would like to join s.meinen SonyHDR-XR500E camcorder two preview monitors! A small Montitor for my camera crane and a large Vorschaumontor for the assistant director. Using a HDMI - splitter, I would like to split the signal from the camera and distribute s.beide sources. It works with this adapter, or is this idea flasch thought?
Is it possible a 1920x1080 HD Pc Screen of Acer as a preview monitor to use. I would buy a DVI to HDMI cable, then connect this camera is s.meine. If the image signal of the camera then automatically on the Pc screen again given?

The problem is still more likely to be the power connector is not it? Why should it not go? You can do it synonymous s.einen directly connect your cam and it will work, therefore, the synonymous works in free if you bring the electricity to run by.
