Well, at least as far as the smearing, it certainly has advantages.
I do abgeschmiert Appro yet not once - either in DV or HDV editing.

as opposed to 6.5. APP is working with a lot of keyframes, which ensures a simpler and more accurate way of working.

So I do not know what you want to do with the videos if you want to use it only for private, I would think it's all right if you want to spend "some" Euronen for it. Schonmal about Premiere Elements considered that?
