after I cam of the material on your PC, is the full clip on the video track 1st Can I do that in the settings somehow prevent it?

it seems to me that is not to prevent. With me behaving the same way Prog. The reading of the cam is obviously bound s.ein new Project.

Can I use individual video - or audio tracks deliberately blocked to prevent that changes can be made. I know from other editing programs, it did PE7 but have not yet discovered.

In the recording window can be found on the Right Page recording settings - here the option 'Studio for editing window
If this is unchecked, the scenes are not immediately in the timeline over.
