So, after hours of tinkering I turn s.Euch.
I have a SonyDCR-PC120E and the following problem:
I would like recording a movie with Windows Movie Maker, Avid Express or PowerDirector to cut it then. With any of the Programs it works. I connected the camera with Firewire s.den computer, it will be recognized and I can make use of Power Director from synonymous.
But the recording does not work - there is no picture and no sound and the recording each time with an error message (In Movie Maker: Unknown Error in PowerDirector: Recording can not be started) is canceled.
Where is the problem? If I can access through Arbetitsplatz on the camera, I can play the movie.

For me, the PC120 is running without problems with SP2.
Give it another time s.einem Calculator (friend).
The switch must have s.der Camera to VCR (operating mode - You) and are then available in the Camera display "DV IN".
Have you ever tried to export a video of the Calculator on the camera too?
If I can access through Arbetitsplatz on the camera, I can play the movie. This means:
You see it on the computer monitor?
or
in the camera display?
