Problem with Win 2000, my DV camera is not recognized!

I'm amazed at what you know everything. I hope you can help me synonymous. I've long been a DV camera. The treatment worked on my previous PC (Win 98) always synonymous. I installed an editing program, and the camera was immediately recognized. Now I have WIN2000 And there's nothing more. Now I have 2 PC's, 2 video cards and 2 Programs. In all variations tried out. Perhaps you know the saying "Never change a running system - never alter a working system." I therefore raises the question, for whatever reason you have installed another operating system?
If you find no solution to the current problem would be my next question is whether you are an image of the last known working configuration (with Windows have 98)? That you could recall the image and in a few minutes everything would work again as usual.
What editing software, computers and video cards have you tried? What was happening (or not synonymous)?
