I have a camcorder and SonyHDR-CX520VE would like to import the videos on my laptop via PMB. Have normally installed the software and the camcorder is synonymous detected correctly, but the videos can not be imported. They are continuously displayed (but no preview image, but instead a white background with gray cross). The photographs however, can be imported as normal.
Had contact with the Sony support and mine, that the codecs were not installed correctly and I should uninstall and reinstall it. Have I made, nothing has taken advantage of.
Does anyone any advice?

What is PMB?
The Cam is the one with memory card / hard drive or with tape?

The "thumbnail" with the gray cross you get whenever the file "offline" is - eg on a hard drive is not currently available if it has been moved or deleted.
I think you have to import again.
Close the Cam s.and start the USB mode - if the PMB is installed correctly, should now start the "Handycam Utility. Choose now in the left-Page the second button of the top "import of media files - and now the program shows you the main window, all are in on the action films available and Photos (above it to three registers - HD, SD and Stillimage). Now you want to import all the highlight films with a check and give the end below the location for the movies (this should of course set in a subfolder of the installation of PMB "watch folder to be"). Now on "Import" button right below and complete. If all films were imported, then automatically starts the PMB and you can them to you on the calculator watch, edit and burn to DVD.
