Hi,
have already researched the Internet for a possible error Ruhr thing but so far without success, I hope someone can help me here.
And here is my problem
As I said, I own a Canon XL1S, however, not that I had in a long time operation. I used to interface the films on the Firewire (desktop computer) transfer. My new notebooks are not all interface with a firewire equipped dachher I've bought a cable to USB and Firewire was hoping that I can easily transfer the movies. My notebooks indicate that something s.dem USB port is connected but do not realize what's connected. As software I use Adobe Premiere Elements 9 and the operating system is Windows 7
Now I hope someone can help me here.
By the way, which the camera is defective, I can exclude them works well.

Since FireWire and USB work completely differently, there can be no simple adapter cable that is synonymous if such a quasi "3 ¬-game items offered on ebay from time to time. The Studio Deluxe version is a 2 x Firewire sit on the PCI card - BrakOut box has only RCA and S Video in / out
Thus, he should really buy an expansion card for the laptop.

I have with a simple cable like I said the dealer's problem, the data of Firewire to USB. An expansion slot on my Dell I have not. 'll Contact s.Dell and the time to ask what could be done there.

From you I would expect synonymous that you are so a part from a plastic box and a few parts from the nearest fishing shop tinker myself ;-) At the moment I do not find the thread, but I could swear that Pinnacle box has anybody here Forum not long ago time, is recommended, as it synonymous came to how you can capture via firewire, if you do not have Firewire.
... A simple cable like I said the dealer, the problem of data transfers have Firewire to USB ... Then you should this lead to your dealer with the right words and return and refund the purchase price.
