In spite of all the quality settings to try in my DV editing program (of Magix Movie Edit Pro), I am unable to create DVD's for viewing on TV with satisfactory quality.
The data I transfer my SonyDCR of HC-42 Handycam via USB cable to my computer. My Dell computer has an Intel 82865G Graphic Controller.
I now need to upgrade my computer to an IEEE 1394 adapter to transfer data via FireWire or a better graphics card upgrade to get better quality?
Or is the problem somewhere else?

The graphics card has to do with the quality as much about how the windshield wipers of a car with top speed.
(And thus not at all interested in principle.)
Naturally you need to record via firewire capture ().

Thanks for the great link. With the manual of my Sony Cam and the information contained therein, I would fall in the dark for a long time!
