I have on my editing machine 6pcs. identical 1TB in Raid 5 First Aid installed. Activated for some time to s.and to the Intel Matrix Console and check the hard disks. Sometimes they find and fix a bug, they usually find no error. The console is activated at boot time, while I have short blue screen.
The whole on XP 64bit. What could be the reason?

Check your power supply how many amps (A) on the 5V line, and are comparable with the power of your plates.
Reason is the following:
If you have used for some reason, a single power cable for all disks (on my account with a few Y-adapters in between), the PSU could be overloaded on the 5V line.
For most of the 12V power supplies about 20 amps, enough for the engine entirely of up to 40 plates (mostly about the need to create 500mA). In some favorable 5V power supplies (eg, those with 750W) will not exceed 2.5 A. The 5V is needed for the controller in the hard drive, this also draws about 500mA. Thus one can therefore no more than five boards off before it gets close to hanging with the flow.
I had the problem recently, synonymous, since (a hard line toward s.einer cage with 4x WD Caviar Black 640GB disks around 500mA at 12V and at 5V), and two 500GB Caviar Black with AND in addition a fan controller. Was very convenient because running over a cable, but again the RAID has been initialized and one of the plates was even declared as faulty.

Hab grad had time ... My PSU is an Toughpower W0103 and make up to 5V 28A. (Then there yet 5VSB with 3A). Total output from the power supply: 600W max
We have the hard disks for Raid then wired with the two SATA cable strands -> of 3 plates per strand. I've seen that still a grad IDE strand is completely free and dazugehängt got there with with IDE-SATA adapters 2 plates. Now be supplied per strand 2 plates. Look here, we have helped obs times, I'll tell!
