I am working with Studio 12.1 Pros. The problem however, I had been synonymous in the 11er. Had already inquired synonymous with support, who know the problem but no solution. Whether an update to version 14 makes sense? Anyway, the of 11 to 12 was not the case. Actually, each rendered file (DVD format), which was completed rendered smaller than 4 GB (approx. 1 hour). Does anyone know workaround? It is particularly fierce in my past "Pictures DVD", the last file was not even a 2.5 GB size, although about 60 minutes long.

The MPEG2 codec is fortunately quite efficient - just like all other inter-frame based codecs.
If I have simple images (eg, a black picture, for an hour) and this compress to MPEG2, the resulting file will not take my current goal.
If I want, I can get eight hours dark picture (without sound) to a DVD5, no problem.
Why is this so? Very simple.
Through the Inter-frame compression are not the images of a video stored individually but it creates a reference picture (I-frame), which relate to all subsequent frames (P-and B-frames).
Is very easy to compress content, such as the theater two hours long shot from the tripod, then it may be that the encoder is not a 8000 kbit / s are required to save the picture to only 4000 kbit / s.
