Ha - the message I just synonymous to chip read online. But whether or not, Seagate is not known for the best HD's to build. And now those same problems with several products. If this is now the end?

What a nonsense. Based on what experience You're as bad Seagate panel? Because when you time a Seagate has been received?
In all of the larger dealers with whom I have spoken to the Seagate had the smallest response rate, in addition to Western Digital.
Overall we can say that all the major manufacturer, more or less good build plates.
I currently do 20 plates S.2 machines, of which 16 Seagate (3 external), 2 external and 2 Maxtor Western Digital. I previously 1 Western Digital entered into, but fairly soon after the first installation on a RAID. Since the exchange of 1 year no problems. In a calculator with 4 Seagate in RAID 5 grouping, which I built for someone else, is after 1 month 1 Seagate failed, since the exchange is also ok. In one of my Linux server built factory Seagate's 5 through 6 years without interruption - to the main board is adopted (capacitor aging).

In my experience, go plates either in the first months after installation, or after many years of operation. A RAID-Verbund (1, 5, 6 or 10) is, in my opinion, in today's prices and capacity requirement - it is always something happening.

I can only: After all, what I of course, other computer-farmers, and traders of many years of experience know that Seagate is the first recommendation, followed of WD. And I personally always synonymous with Maxtor'm very good mileage, but was anyway of Seagate eaten.

Markus
