Infoseite // Search for suitable hardware DVCPRO HD material to be cut!

Frage von postblack:

Hello,
am for the first time in the process I have been synonymous around the forum, but could not solve my problem. Therefore I turn now s.euch.

I am currently in the process I put together a new PC. It should DVCPRO HD material can be processed. A quad processor will probably include as well as the P35C-DS3R motherboard of Gigabyte.

My problem is rather that I do not know what graphics card s.besten suited. Because I want synonymous out again and can play a game.
Is the NVIDIA GeForce 8800GTX or ATI Radeon HD2900XT possibly suitable for this?

The second, I would like some advice on the hard disks and the RAID system. It is of course, all run fast, but synonymous safe. I thought s.1TB Gesammtspeicher.
Had the ST3500630NS Seagate Barracuda ES, RAID Edition, 24 / 7 or Caviar RE2 WD5000ABYS Caviar RAID Edition, 24 / 7 may be suitable for this? And if the hard disks in Raid bring enough computing power to DVCPRO HD edit pages?

I thank you in advance

The question of the graphics card should only be used in connection with the use editing software to be answered. There are combinations that are not in harmony.

Hello,
thanks for the quick reply.
Well, unfortunately that is synonymous not yet entirely clear.
Probably with Adobe Premiere Pro CS3.
An alternative would be Avid Express pro HD.
I still can not really decide.

But is it generally possible that a Geforce 8800GTX
HD2900XT or the DVCPRO HD material can operate?

on a macbook, we have the footage captured,
I need only to extremely large amount of data to be able to process a
powerful calculator. The film is 90min. long. Ie 1TB diskspace do I need it. Best with Raidkonfiguration.

That with the data is a small problem. Simply two plates as 500s Raid 0, which is synonymous by software. As it should be synonymous almost everyone onboard RAID controllers do. DVCProHD has only 100 Mbit / s. The raid should be loose for seven or eight tracks in parallel possible!
Remember that once you have all the raw data backupst. The raw data then you copy the data over as work and work with them. the project file is stored on two disks. Then, hardly anything has happened, the cut list is there, only the data need to be re-linked, if your girlfriend about the RAID thrown out the window has.

DVC PRO HD editing in the Windows world is primarily a matter of codecs. Either you go on the Raylight products - which allow the processing of DVC PRO HD synonymous in other applications such as Adobe Premiere or Vegas. Or you can elect a Schnittprgramm, which brings its own codec - as the broadcast version of Edius 4.5. Taste but ...

... The processor requirement s.den less high, the material is located so as I-frame only before. Raid is a good idea, but because of the larger amount of data - with Raid 0 loose enough to be synonymous with Raid 5 go, but it is slower (and it is due to the internal Sicherheitpackups at 4 plates approximately 3 s.Kapazität available). Raid 5 would have the advantage that it has internal backup - if one disk abraucht go, no data is lost.

hei people
thank you for your tips. That has helped me immensely next.
Was me what the handling and components are not so sure.
But now I Discover a red thread, what the configuration is concerned.

One question I have yet. Is the Raid 10 suited?
If fast and simultaneous data backup. Or rather Raid 0 and then an additional 2 X 500GB hard disks without Raidverbund free.
