Infoseite // Secure MXF Project - later batch of Org-MXFs necessary

Frage von virtual:

Hello,

I work s.sehr extensive P2 projects to which I must synonymous later can access. That is why I archive my entire raw material before cutting to an external RAID system (; including P2 structure, proxy files and tags).
Send in the archive software can I sift my raw clips and selective in the AVID. With the auto generated proxy clips and create the indexing of the XML Information MXF a very useful workflow for viewing and editing lists. In addition, the AVID is not blocked - just funktioiniert in the web browser.

In MC I import the selected clips and consolidating them at the local AVID Raid. After cutting, but I want to free my AVID Raid - the local space is needed for future projects ...

If I want to edit an old project again, there are some problems. Previously, with the tape was not a problem: Open Project, batch digitize the tapes brought one after - that's it.

My problem now is that AVID (the Org Rohclips; MXFs) copies to the consolidation in the mounted, local and renames raid.
How can I edit an old project in which the Org-Rohclips (; MXFs only) are still in my archive?

Workflow brief:

Production:
- Recording on P2
- P2 on ext. HD
- Ext. HD -> (Archive, archive-RAID)

Postproduction:
- Importing Clips to Bin (; from archive-RAID)
- Conolidate (; to local AVID Raid)
- Cutting, Export
- Backup project data d. (; AVID Prj)
- (PRJ delete clips from the local AVID Raid; via media tool)

Post production of an old project:
- Armored AVID PRJ-(open data, all the clips and SEQS: Offline)

How can I now my old project with the original Org-linking Rohclips?

I hope that I could describe my problem understandable.
Does anybody advice?

Thanks & Regards,

In principle, the Avid workflow is compliant. For tapes, it works well in ages! Importing tapes, cut, at project end: OMFS (; MXFs or delete). With renewed process -> Offline highlight clips, batch digitize -> all the clips back online.

Only it does not work with MXFs. Why not or how does it work??

- I have the Avid MXF deleted folder - offline> all clips
- In the Bin "raw" marks all the clips
- "Relink" -> no success -> offline all clips
- "Consolidate" -> no success -> offline all clips

@ tatita
No, I do not use P2CMS. Ic've always installed the P2 Viewer that MXFs I copy manual with Total Commander (; of sync) with the entire folder structure.

Can this be it with the introduced since the 3.5 AMA system is simple, but in the older versions this works very reliably:

It goes on jedenfall lost the folder structure of the P2 cards. Thus MC but recognizes the video data are on a plate, they must necessarily be in the folder structure as follows AVID
Avid MediaFiles/MXF/1 - or
Avid MediaFiles/MXF/2
...

The P2 files to a (at best, empty) (consolidieren internal disks, or on the explorer audio & video files to Avid MediaFiles/MXF/1 (;... or 2, or 3, ...) Copy
Then over the Media Tool (and the plate where you hinkopiert hers select + select all projects, the files) into a bin and pull losschneiden.

The MXF / 1 folder (; or the one you copied into the secure hers) after the cut and then somewhere in need Precarriage again. If it is necessary to distinguish a project for several of the P2 cards you want (; eg location, date, protagonist), then each moves the files to / Avid MediaFiles/MXF/2 or 3 or .... then hold as much as you need.

Move the audio + video files into the Avid Media Files folder / MXF /??
Dannacher MC will scan the disk, because he notices the new files are available. to hire are now the files already online, if not then re-connect with relink.

Report again if it did not works

Ok, the workaround would I test this evening times. Me not to go all meta-information is lost (; camera type, date, settings, etc.)?
That would be a shame, because I have the XMLs beautifully integrated into my archive software. All the info about the clips are pretty clear in the browser screen. (; The Clipinfos to each Org-Clipfile are registered each in a separate XML file). It can be extrapolated from these data available in the archive clips. I will definitely use next ...

Tomorrow I will report!
