Frage von rastyg:
Have a receiver with hard drive but unfortunately, no slot for the recording of a smart card has.
Is there a way to somehow decode the signal with an external smart card?

if you still on telling us some technical data, the odds are not bad synonymous get a response that could answer your question.

What receiver do you have?
ABO What do you have? etc.
Otherwise, I would time the mandatory criteria in google and banging when the receiver has no CAM slot becomes difficult or impossible ...

The receiver is of the firm Medion MD24080 with an RS-232 interface. I have a subscription from the ORF.

hmmm ... now why did you answer as a GUEST?
no preference.
A receiver without a CAM module slot is synonymous external (imho)
Encrypted no signal decode. A so-called external decoding hardware does not exist to my knowledge.
If your receiver has a record option, eg via Scart image signals to be fed, you could be an additional ORF procuring suitable receiver (no HD connected) and record the signal.
However, there was still a potential obstacle. Should the signal be equipped (from the 2nd receiver) with one Macrovsionsignal is synonymous with the analog recording nothing.
My recommendation: Technisat or Digistarreceiver with CAM option and an internal HD, plus a Alphacryptmodul. Costs about 200 ¬ and you have
for the future peace. Even if something should come a new encryption system.
There is now synonymous various receivers (Dreambox, and associates) working on Linux-based and thus provide an open system, which is updated constantly. This is still a piece of future-proof.
This is your problem not really the right forum ... look at times eg
